Are You Making a Difference in Science?

I've always found scientists for the most part interesting, you know, and almost like amaze because of course they don't know that there are people like me doing this kind of work. I... so many of my colleagues are very skeptical that philosophers or science can actually make a difference. They have a pretty pessimistic view, but honestly, that hasn't been my experience. It also depends on the target audience of what I'm writing. When's the last time you walked into a wet lab and who does consume? Are you making that difference in science?
