Darwin's theory is all about explaining how the design that we see in the biosphere, this exquisite order, that's all around us, emerged without a designer. There's no equation that we can write down that predicts from bacteria several billion years ago, eventually humans will emerge. This also includes Richard Dawkins model of the self-esteem in which genes are the fundamental unit of biological evolution. Those genes that are most fit for the environment will propagate more of themselves over time into future generations.
We motivate and introduce Constructor Theory, humanity's first Theory of Everything (or so I claim). We explain what the founder of Constructor Theory, David Deutsch, calls the prevailing conception, and why it is inadequate in capturing and explaining many phenomena in nature, such as evolution by natural selection, the growth of knowledge, and various principles that we hold to be true. We briefly discuss why Constructor Theory allows for a wider range of phenomena than does the prevailing conception.
