A New Study of Cardiomyocytes in the Space Station

A paper that just came out yesterday in stem cell reports. It was six years in the making. We sent some IPS derived cardiomyocytes to the space station back in 2016 and sent them up there for about a month. They were cultured by Dr. Kate Rubens, who's an astronaut and also a biologist,. And so Dr. Ruben was able to maintain the cells in orbit for a month.
