You really can only define a set if it's, and now we have a concept that Chris Beardsley came up with. He defined effective reps over the last five before failure. You could do a thousand sets, but if they're all 10 reps from failure, nothing really happens. It just doesn't exponentially like just doing manual labor. Your body adapts to it. And then that's it.
