The Task Force on Reparations for Black Californians
The task force has nine people on it. They looked at some previous reparations efforts that had happened internationally. But in a lot of ways, they were sort of making it up as they went along. The calculations are complicated and they spent years working with economists to figure out exactly how much money people would be owed. If you qualified for all of the eligibility points, somebody might be eligible for up to $1.2 million.
