The Consciousness Ceiling
If microchips are the wrong stuff for consciousness, then a mind machine can't halpen. The idea of merging with a i, in that case, is a joke. A i will be free to be as intelligent as we make it, or as it makes itself. If non conscious machines supplant biological intelligence, the singularity would actually be a complete nightmare. All the technological bells and whistles happen, why they result in the end of consciousness. That's kind of sobering.
