John Avlon: Saddam Hussein had a tremendous history of invading his neighbors being highly aggressive, claiming tens and hundreds of millions of lives. He also was a man who had clear aspirations to destroy Israel was building the means to do so through a nuclear arsenal missiles and so forth. This was an unprovoked aggression to invade Iran in 1980. And then onwards with with over and over again once frustrated after the 1991 invasion of Kuwait, Saddam turned his his his aggression internally. The idea that there was a a WMD threat from Saddam was a hoax it was a lie.
