In D&D 4 they also had the essentials, didn't they? And that was trade or digest size. Six by nine I think maybe something like that. The old guard is getting older and the people who will be buying these books are going to be growing up with not so much of it in them. This is not your father's player's handbook. This is the digest size young adventurers.
