The G7's Language of Derisking From the Chinese Economy
All seven G7 members embraced language of derisking from the Chinese economy. The world had a sincere hope that through economic engagement with China, China will become closer to international free trade system and improve along with it domestic policies. But "the hope was dashed because China used its enormous gain from the international freetrade system to enable and empower its machines of repression," says Peter Bergen.
