How Many Trees Could We Plant?

The scale of what we're doing is relatively small, but it's the fact that we're not balanced out by any uptake that means it's constantly growing. If humans were to vanish, there would be almost twice as many trees growing across the world - which is quite a staggering human footprint already. And yet, i think this finding sparked off the most exciting, but also chaotic and uncontroversial set of discussions in this field for quite some time.
