The difference between a $100 guitar and a $1,000 guitar is more significant. The farther you get along the spectrum in terms of how good an instrument can sound, the finer the distinctions are. If somebody good plays it, they're going to sound good; if you don't know what you're doing, you'll sound like you don't want to play it.
