The maintainer of an open source project needs to be willing to let contributors work on his or her projects. The TSC has had some really interesting features come out of the process that we wouldn't have otherwise thought of or prioritized for the TSC to work on. "People are not contractors, people want to be part of something, they want to bepart of a team," says Nuno Maduro from Laravel.
