The Decline of Consumer Confidence

Consumer confidence for July slipped a little bit to 41.3 from 41.7, but that had been as high as 47.4 back in April. revolving consumer credit wasn't awful, it wasn't bad, but at $8.5 billion, that's among the weaker of the past year or so. The 6-month average is heading lower, and that's the lowest since January 2022.
