This is Red Clocks by Lenny Zumas. This book back in the day was dystopian fiction. The topic is now of course reality. There's no question that this won't be a book for everyone. It's got a singular style to its prose which I can see some finding intentionally odd and it's absolutely rife with touchy political issues from abortion to the place of a woman in the home and in the world. And of course trigger warnings abound including for every single thing around pregnancy, child rearing and mothering.I found it to be immensely readable and a book that helped me look deeper into myself and the kind of woman I've been and want to be.
