The Lord's Wrath Pours Out on Those Who Reject Him
God's might is described as a roaring lion in his protection like hovering birds. God calls them to return to him and forsake the idols of silver and gold. This is their reminder that Assyria will fall. Egypt will fail them and God alone will bring salvation. How often do we place our trust in man-made alliances, technology, or medicine? We place our hope in things and relegate God to a box.
