Memory and the Perception of Time
Many people who have been through intense or life threatening events report afterwards that time seemed to have somehow slowed down for them during the pivotal few seconds. neuroscientist found it is a trick of memory, which is to say, when everything is hitting the fan, your brain writes down much denser memory. When dropped from 150 foot tall tower in free fall backwards into a net below, I measured their perception of time on the way down.
