The Motley Fool and E-Marang came up with the April Fool's Day joke more than 20 years ago. Larry McCloskey, an ill-fated CEO at Long Island Iced Tea, was stealing from the Motley Fool when he talked about becoming a "blockchain" A few years ago it was blockchain. Right now it's AI. Companies that aren't really involved in AR are going out of their way to say they are.
