The Importance of Understanding Facts

I think there's actually a much bigger issue that's more sort of upstream, which is just getting them to engage in this kind of conversation at all. I've seen so many times that people of goodwill who could be laughing and joking together before the political issue comes upthat separates them. So we often have an overly extreme view of who those other folks are that don't agree with us. And so I think a good starting point is to get people to appreciate that things are not as extreme as we think they are.
