Theory of communism to their credit, even though we may disagree with their prescriptions, one thing we can agree with is that they are Marxists in so far as they want class abolition. So therefore it's not surprising that Leclav works with Schmidt and why he turns to Maki-Avelian, so on. With Polances, it ultimately becomes unclear whether there is a ruling class, or if there is a kind of constant vine for different hegemonic blocks. And I'm like, well, that's fair enough, because that does describe something real and you aren't abandoning Marxism for it. Now, I do think Marxists do need to take elite theory more seriously
