Is a Child Better at Learning a Second Language?

An average teenager who's been taught the language from an early age can just simply pretty easily absorb the reading list of one of these majors. I don't believe that myself that this is true, or at least if it is true, I can't find any good data or evidence to back it up. Adults can use tools like self-discipline, focused study, grammar instruction, etc., to help them learn a foreign language much more effectively than children can. Children basically are wandering around the world, sort of kind of understanding at some point, and they don't generally have the motivation, the self-dis discipline, etc,. to make fast progress.
