The government's given no information on what might happen to people without status so far. My understanding is that they will need to be eligible for asylum support and that provision is included in the bill. So we're looking in theory at least at people who are effectively in the UK unable to work and have to be supported by the state. I think there are possibilities within there are exceptions that can be made, he says.
