The Russian Military's Unpreparedness for the War
We didn't know the full extent of Russia's military preparedness for the war that they were apparently preparing for until they got involved in the war. As the Russian military switched from a defensive force that they were preparing for, or drilling for, into an offensive operation, it exposed a lot of issues and deficiencies we didn't know existed earlier. And even if some parts of the Russian military were getting adequate resources, they weren't getting enough sort of technologies.
