The National Rifle Association

Colonel william c. Church and general george wingate formed the national rifle association in 18 71. They were concerned that they were losing too many bullets because they were going out to war and people weren't good shots. In 19 56, robert f. Williams took over leadership of the local chapter of the national association for the advancement of colored people. He filed for a charter with the n r a and formed the black guard, an armed group committed to the protection of blacks.
