There are bad actors in the world of a academic journalism, right? And these are the known bad actors. Sometimes people make a faustian bargain just to get published in something that is like a pay to play institution. Some ould argue there's deafling corruption afoot. It doesn't just affect criminal enterprises. Doesn't justi it affect you even if you have never written or submitted a paper to an academic journal. Even if you don't care what these things are, it affects you specifically in a way that will probably make you angry, and it should.
