Nuclear Weapons Systems - The United States and the Soviet Union

Both the united states and russia have what they call a nuclear triad of strategic nuclear weapons that are based on submarines, on airplanes and on the land territory of each of them. And by developing this broad range of different systems, they try to insure that no matter what the adversary does, there will always be some of those systems that are going to survive that type of attack. For example, submarines carrying nuclear weapons are perceived as particularly invulnerable because it's difficult to determine where the adversaries submarines are.
