The First Amendment is read to me and you can't target religion, but there's a second set of like protections that afforded religious institutions. In the US, we call it like a church autonomy. Even though you have these rules that float a bat, bow and statutes that prohibit certain kinds of discrimination, also probably would cover things like who your members are and maybe who your students are.
