"I like them in as early as possible. I'm trying to kind of get a grasp of the timing of things from the earliest stage," he said. "It's really helpful to have a sound effect because often you allow more time once the sound is there." The film was in good shape by the time we were adding music to it, but that didn't change the edit says McElvoy.
