What's the Value Chain?
An investment fund would raise money from these institutions for a strategy like real estate. The next step in the value chain, especially in the nineties and thousands, was alligators. So by the time that dollar is actually invested in an asset in seattle, it's been essentially like a feed away. It's a very expensive sort of way of doing things. And back then, when the technology wasn't awesome, the value chain could be quite long.
