Complex Trauma Recovery

CHAPTER

The Biochemical Paradox of Fragmentation

Under stress there's a natural compartmentalization that we all have. Even as a child thinking about a kid living in an abuse of household who has to be able to go to school and say hello like things are normal. But then you also have to have these parts at the same time that are holding and dealing with whatever chaos dysfunction abuse neglect is going on. And this is a huge part of how EMDR helps to is because EMDR is really big on helping the nervous system time stamp those things, orient the part, orient the experience in it's correct time so that it can be filed away.
