The Importance of Attention in Meditation

When we're in a socially anxious moment, our attention naturally turns inward. And that's when we start to overthink things and forget how to stand properly. We can engage with the moment much more easily when our attention is turned outward rather than inward. The inner critic will still be there, but we will have turned down the volume on them.
