Is There a Dead King?
As the state stabilized and became ruled under a single ruler, the need for these castles disappeared. They split into three different entities: fortress, palace and city. Castle used to be residents of the king, but now the king didn't need to live in the fortress. Now it was just purely a utilitarian fortress for defense. And they changed in shape as well because the weaponry changed. But yeah, that's my fun fact about a dead king. Please continue.
