Tournament prep and mindset

This week on Chess Journeys, I spoke with Michael. He’s been playing tournament chess for almost 2 years. Recently, he won the U1100 section of the Dreaming King Open and played his immortal game in the process. We talked about chess coaches, videos, books, and other tools for learning. Michael talked about the joys of playing OTB in tournaments, bars, and coffee shops. It was great to hear a lower rated player making progress and having a great time doing it!
