The Importance of Sympathy

The authors of Every Heart Restored wrote a book about marital rape. They say that women are called to feel sympathy for their abusers because they do such horrible things and it's not the man's fault. But if you have any objection to feeling sympathy for Greg, this tells you why you shouldn't. And in the end, it basically says that men are just this way; what else could he possibly have done?
