The average family had a lot of savings back in the 19 fifties, 19 60. The fact that families are in much weaker finance positions now than they were then is another sign of a falling stan living. Now you need two people to work, whereas back in the sixties, you only needed one person to work. And i think soon the middle class are also going to lose the luxury of retirement.
