What's the Point of a Deductable?

If you have a deductable that's five, six, ten times higher than the amount of money that you have, you can't afford to buy into your insurance benefit. You spenk crak pard, if they ad one, have back on expenses. They would have to go to family members. So that kind of begs the question, like, what's the point then, of having a deductable?
