Bridget Nolten's Testimony on Abby Lay's Murder
Lizzie said she was in the kitchen reading an old magazine that had been left in the cupboard, an old Harper's magazine. She could not place herself anywhere. When Bridget was asked about Andrew returning home, she said that he had trouble opening the front door because it was jammed and it was locked. Lizzie definitely wasn't in the kitchen because we were just in that house. You can't mistake where someone is. If they're upstairs, they're right upstairs from the front door. And if she heard her laughing, chances are she was at the top of the stairs,. yep, right outside of the bedroom where Abby Lay brutally killed.
