The Modern Approach to Mental Illness
In the Renaissance, asylums were reserved to exclusively treat people with mental disorder. In this reformation movement, we started putting them in sunlight and unchaining patients. Staff were required to be kind. The humane treatment of people became a treatment technique of mental illness.
