Discourse Questions in Classical Languages
Many since the 90s have some very snazzy Dutch linguists finally started thinking about discourse questions in terms of the classical languages. And it is from this work in ancient Greek particles that I have developed a deep-loathing to the word emphasis. It's just that any time you have these discourse particles, people kind of make fun of them because no one consciously knows what they mean unless they're a trained linguist trying to figure out what they mean.
