Chickens are not used for meat straight away, or what's the deal? No, they're not. More recent research suggests that jungle fowl were probably being kept from pets to start off with by hunter-gatherer communities. As time went on, it seemed to create a very docile female chicken but the male chickens were really aggressive. So cockfighting comes before eating chickens and having a sport. We didn't invent chickens to eat. We invented them for games. Exactly.
