Learning in Public Is a Good Way to Make a Reputation in a Specific Technical Space
You learn a lot by trying to explain it to others, because that's the only waytat you truly know if you've learned something. If you're presenting yourself as an expert, you get nibbled to death by ducks on a lot of the deep technical nuances. I don't think that false modesty necessarily serves me particularly well. It's yet, i know exactly what i'm talking about here, and pretending otherwise is just being disingenuous.
