"It feels intense. And even hearing it, I'm like, Oh, that's a very strong,. that's a visceral word," he said. "I don't feel as triggered by it, but it's like, there's an intensity to it." He says his parents were not necessarily mean in the strict authoritarian sense; they just had their own vision of what was right and wrong. But at the same time, this desire to not want to be the authority, the lording over the family has come into play for him.
