The Dropbox API Wasn't Really a Sync Service.
The reason why these apps haven't really survived to this date is that Dropbox, the Dropbox API wasn't really meant to be a sync service. It was very easy, if you weren't careful, to get your documents out of sync between devices where you might have made changes in one place or two places at once. So you had to be fairly careful about how you use these apps because it could cause trouble.
