King Tubby had a very particular sounding filter that you hear DJs use these days. It just has his brutal step points and is really resonant and kind of pretty jarring but in the best possible way. Back in the day he had it shoved into the mixer so he could literally just be pushing faders, doing mutes, obviously bus stuff,. wheeling nearly into this high pass filter and essentially just think about it and make it happen. And I think that was the joy of the way he would work. He'd just sort of set up a situation that had so much flow to it. He could really like talk with his studio.
