The Church Growth Movement
Christianity has always been about winning converts, but it was couched in the language of church growth. For some churches, I think it became the focus. Church growth advocates would talk about needing to do the same thing in church. Sometimes this went to the extreme of describing potential parishioners as consumers. It's a contributing factor to why I left evangelicalism.
