Are the New Anti-Capitalist Movements Orphans?

The new anti-capitalist movements of our own times don't resonate with any of the left traditions of the past, you say. You say they lack a genealogy and reveal greater affinities with anarchism. Are they orphans or do they just have different parents? I think they are orphans because the anarchist and libertarian features which one can detect in these new movements don't mean conscious continuity with the anarchists of the 19th or 20th century. These new movements are really trying to invent something new and this is their strength. But I don't think that a new project for the 21st century could be elaborated, invented and practised without working through the past.
