The Left in France - Two Lessons From the Past
The far right was at least different, daring to say things that an awful lot of people thought but wouldn't say. That has ed now completely. The dreams that you were encouraged to have and are now being shown will never be within your reach. But the young abstainers were, in a sense, cut in half. Of them got excited by the spectacle of the left coming together. And when what was needed was for the different parts of the left to get together. This was felt by huge numbers of french people before they had the evidence we now have.
