The Roots of Regga Tone

In the 1980s, artists started playing Spanish lyrics over Jamaican dance hall songs. Two of Regga Tom's earliest pioneers were Leonardo Renato Aldere and El Franco. In 1985, El Hanadas moved to New York City where he began spreading early regga tone in the club. The defining beat of regga tone was popularized by Panamanian rapper Nando Boom.
