Bob Greene: Can we have principled politicians? That's cute. We've got to dial this one way back and ask a very basic question. What is human nature in the first place? He says most people don't think about it much; they'll give you two radically different answers. Greene: Ultimately what we could hope for is a structure that keeps these people in check since they're under incentives, just like the average person is.
