i wonder if you could talk a little about the ways that the topic of colonialism and or decolonization have figured into your work on the anthropology of law and politics in in africa. In many ways, it's it's escentral. It is a key part of the ways that we understand the contemporary human condition. And one of the problems is that there are very narrow strictures through which lawyers will often see and pose questions about who is culpable. The colonial past has very much shaped contemporary political problems in subsaharan africa.
