Introduction

The term Egragor comes from the Greek word used to translate a biblical word for certain angelic beings, which translates literally to wakeful or watchers. The stories go that these fallen being sought to conquer and enslave humanity under a tyrannical and supernatural dominion. This act would finally culminate in the divine judgment of the whole earth in the waters of Noah's flood. These kinds of legendary accounts of angelic demigods bringing forbidden knowledge to the masses is certainly not unique to second temple Judaism but pervasive in history.
